One of the hospital based projects is an attempt at reducing Nurse Absenteeism in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The interesting thing about this initiative is that it entirely experimental (nothing similar has been done before), focusing on the people, rather than the processes, in order to bring about improvements to productivity and workflow. We are experimenting with the use of A3 as a Lean Tool.


Another one of LIA’s projects is in a Garage Door Manufacturing Company, producing doors for the South African market, and for export. This project explores the challenges of implementing Lean Principles to a small owner managed business enterprise.
