The Lean Institute Africa (LIA) and FocusIn High-Performance Culture and Lean Leadership Study Tour will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, one of the world’s leading destinations for operational excellence learning and leadership development.

Workshop sessions and accommodation will be based in downtown Lexington, conveniently located just 15 minutes from Lexington Blue Grass Airport (LEX). Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to visit leading organisations across Kentucky, gaining first-hand exposure to world-class management systems, operational excellence practices, and high-performance workplace cultures.

Ground transportation during the event, including transfers between workshop venues and site visits

Why Kentucky

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) opened in 1988 and is Toyota’s largest vehicle manufacturing plant in the world. We will be led by TSSC during their Intro to TPS Plant Tour and utilize the network of 100+ suppliers located in Kentucky to arrange best-practice site visits.

Mike Hoseus was one of the first few hundred employees at the TMMK facility, and he will share his first-hand experience from 13 years spent working at the plant.
